57th European Senior Championships 2022

From 25 to 29 May 2022, the 57th European Senior Championships took place in Gaziantepe, Turkey, where 505 representatives from 45 European countries presented themselves.

Out of 32 representatives in the Kumite men’s 60 kg category, the Slovak Republic was represented by Dominik Imrich, who in the 1st round won 2:1 over the Montenegrin representative BOJIC MATIJA, in the 2nd round lost 2:4 with the later finalist Italian CRESCENZO ANGELO, who ” pulled “Dominika to the overhaul. In the 3rd round he won 8: 0 over the Swiss representative WABER KJETIL and in the 4th round he also literally declassified the Croatian RUMENJAK NOA 8:0 and advanced to the fight for the BRONZE medal, where he lost against the Israeli GEHTBARG RONEN 0:6 and took 5th place.

Dominik was also part of the 27 Kumite teams of the men’s team, who won the Hungarian team 3:1 in the 1st round, and lost in the 2nd round to the later French team winner 0:3, who “pulled” the Kumite men’s team into the overhaul. In the 3rd round, the Slovak men’s team won over the Swedish team 3:0 and in the 4th round, they lost to the Ukrainian team 0:3 and thus took 7th place together.
